Walden Looping Project

June 27, 2019

The Valparaiso Lakes Area Conservancy District as owners of L-A-C Utilities is proud to announce a water main looping project is about to start July 1st.  This project will bring an additional 8” water main feed into the Walden Subdivision as well as a loop into the North Burlington Beach Road Subdivision. 

Looping eliminates dead ends and provides a secondary supply if the need ever arises to turn off water for an emergency.

TGB Unlimited Inc. was awarded the project and the contracts have been signed.  This company will begin shortly.  The project itself will consist of boring underground from the water main near Springview Court and Thornbury Drive East crossing to the east to Bear...

November 11, 1918.

On November 11 of 1918, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice went into effect, a cessation of hostilities between the Allied Nations and Germany, ending the “war to end all wars.”

The official end of World War I would not be declared for seven more months, at the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, but the end actually came on that November day, when the truce was signed, the opposing forces laid down their weapons, and the war known as the “Great War” was over.
