LEGAL NOTICE

The Board of Directors of the Valparaiso Lakes Area Conservancy District is inviting potential candidates for membership on the Board of Directors of the Conservancy District to file nominating petitions pursuant to I.C. 14-33-5-3. One directorship position will be voted upon in the calendar year 2026 on the meeting day of the Valparaiso Lakes Area Conservancy District. This position is currently held by Walter Breitinger and serves the Burlington Beach South Directorship Area V and will be voted upon for a full four-year term.

Any candidate for the directorship position must be a freeholder within the boundaries of the directorship area for which the candidacy is submitted and must also qualify by knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to the development of the conservancy district. A candidate may also be a nominee of a corporate freeholder. Anyone interested in seeking this position must file a nominating petition at the office of the Valparaiso Lakes Area Conservancy District located at 1805 Burlington Beach Road, Valparaiso, Indiana, before December 1, 2025. The petition must be signed by at least five (5) freeholders within the directorship area for which the nominee is seeking nomination. Nominating petitions that are mailed are valid if delivered or postmarked (private postage meter postmarks will not be accepted) before December 1, 2025. The envelope must have sufficient U. S. Postage and be addressed to the district’s office.
